Altec Industries (Altec) is recalling certain 2024-2026 AC Series Crane vehicles. The inside joints between the side plates and the base plates of the 26-foot insulating personnel jib (IJ26) may be missing welds. Missing welds can lead to platform joint failure due to fatigue or overload, resulting in the platform falling from the boom tip, increasing the risk of injury.
How to identify the affected product
Altec will advise owners to inspect the IJ26 jib for missing welds. If the welds are missing, the jib should be taken out of service immediately. Altec will add the missing welds or provide a repair procedure and kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 7, 2026.
